November 2025

Well, we have entered the Autumn season and the days are as short as a TikTok attention span. We have plenty of stock left over because we were as busy as crafty beavers doing macrame and woodworking crafts. With the approach of Christmas, we're committed to delivering orders in the nearby Ottawa region. Since we plan to take vacation in India, we'll be gone toward the end of January where I plan to take a million photos--India is incredibly photogenic Thas and I will be going to a spa for our anniversary in a few days, and on Sunday, we're going to an event known as Memento Mori where some of our work will be there for auction. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at 9 p.m. at 280 Joffre-Belanger Way here in Ottawa at the Anina's Cafe. Hope to see you there.

 

 

 

 

December 2025

Christmas is coming and Thas and I have already made out our cards for family and friends and we're making plans to visit India. Thas plans to meet some of her school friends and others in various regions of the country. We'll be gone toward the end of January and we will have a friend watch our house and water our plants. If you're planning to get a gift for Christmas or Chanukah, now is the time, and if you live in the Ottawa area, we will be happy and grateful to deliver it to your home. We are not creating new content now, but we have plenty of stock as you can see on the website. We will be going back into production as the weather warms up. So have a wonderful Christmas or Chanukah and enjoy the holiday season.

January 2026

Happy and healthy New Year!

Well, we're getting ready to go on vacation to India and hope to pick up a few interesting items to work with during the year. From Cow bells and Indian shells, whatever, we want to create the most unique items imaginable. For now, what we have done is to lower our prices on every single item and hope you'll take a look with what's on our site. Thas plans to meet with a number of her school friends and we will travel with them to various areas in the country. So if you decide to order something, we will not be able to deliver after the 18th of this month until February 14th, Valentine's Day for those keeping score. Hey, why not get your loved one something special for that day? 

Anyway, let's continue to pray for peace on Earth.

February 2026

We're back! India was relatively mild this winter with temperatures only around 26C to 30C degrees. A veritable oven compared to Canada, but not so bad if you know India.

We flew from Ottawa to Paris to Bengalore and then went to Mangalore to stay with some close friends, Alex and Shrija. We went ot various markets and really didn't find anything that felt right for the business. After a week, we headed back to Bangalore to stay with Thasneem's niece, Sophia and her husband, Mario and his parents, who are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Mario celebrated his 40th birthday the day after we arrived--I celebrated my birthday a week after we landed but you really don't need to know my age. Suffice it to say, when I was growing up, everything was in black and white. 

Finally, to end our trip, we flew to Chennai, the birthplace of Thas, saw friends and family, went out to fantastic restaurants, and only drank bottled water. [If you go to India, it's an absolute must to do the same.]

Chennai was a veritable goldmine for Indian art pieces and we scored a number of things. We have yet to update the website, but we will, once we [read: Thas] gets to work with her macrame.

March 2026

We finally posted a new addition to our product line: a framed set of miniature cow bells we picked up in India and Thas placed them in a over green sari material. The frame measures 18 inches by 13 inches on the outside, and the price has already been discounted. We can deliver it anywhere in the immediate Ottawa area if you're interested. 

Thasneem has been working on a few pieces since we returned home from India but my woodworking tools are buried under several feet of snow on our terrace [where I do most of my work] and all I can do is watch my wife work while I watch police chases on YouTube or some such thing.

April 2026

Okay, it's April 1st and nobody pulled an "April Fools" joke on me or Thas today--I suspect it's due to the fact that we're too old to mess with. The snow just doesn't want to leave Ottawa alone and while my dear wife has been working upstairs on her macrame and other mediums, I have to wait for a few warm days before I can get back to woodworking since I do most of it outdoors. I've been getting a few really cool ideas for clocks and birdhouses, along with other items too soon for me to reveal. 

We hope you all had a great winter and soon to have an Easter celebration to bring in the season.

So if you check out our site now you'll see a number of new creations by Thas. We picked up a number of various cowbells and other items from India, which, by the way, was a fantastic vacation for us. We saw old friends and family and ate like it was our last meal. We visited Bangaluru [aka Bangalore], Mangaluru [aka Mangalore] and Chennai, where Thas was born and went to school. 

May 2026

Spring, spring, the bird is on the wing-. Haven't you heard . . . the wing is on the bird. I don't know if you've ever heard this silly saying, but I have to admit, I got it from my dearly departed mother. And speaking of which, I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers' Day. 

Thas and I are looking forward to a creatively productive summer and since she can do her work indoors, has already been creating magnificent items. I was able to do a little woodworking on the better days and made several wood tea light holders. I'm considering doing some floating shelves and if we get enough orders, will make more as the need arises.

Thus far, we've been spending time with friends, enjoying stimulating conversation, and planning to do a little traveling over the summer--likely within Canada, but who knows? India is now a fond memory and I think Thas has got the traveling bug in her bonnet. I have to admit, I miss New York City, where I was born and raised, but it has changed so much since we came to Canada in 2010.

Just to let you know, if, for example, you want a cutting board personalized, just let us know as we do wood burning and can burn whatever your burning desire happens to be. And check out some of our latest creations.
